Lotus flower, plus a new ant hanko

A lotus flower for my sister, with a quote from What’s Love Got to Do with It?

Inspiration for the flower drawn from this photo by Charles Sloger I found via Pinterest. I’m happy to find that he took this photo at Kenilworth Park and Aquatic Gardens, in my home city of Washington DC. I’ve taken my share of lotus blossom photos there, but none as stunning as his.

This etegami features a new hanko I created recently — an ant that looks a little like an alien trying to flag down a spaceship. After stamping the lotus card with this new hanko, I regretted it — the hanko has a comic effect, not what I wanted to express with the lotus and quote.

Still, into the mail it went!
