There are no goodbyes

Therearenogoodbyes.2013-05-12I painted this card as a sympathy card for a friend who lost her mother recently. The words are from Gandhi, with the full quotation being, “There are no goodbyes for us. Wherever you are, you will always be in my heart.”

I thought it would be appropriate for Memorial Day, today.

The flower is called a Leucothoe (aka, “Rainbow drooping fetterbrush”), I took a photo of it, see below, while hiking in a park called Buffalo Mountain, in Johnson City, Tennessee, recently. It was rather hard to capture the different between the red/pinkish stem, and the reddish tinge to the flowers. I made another one, with a green stem, taking liberties, and sent it to my sister before scanning it.
