This week, my inbox seemed to turn into a nest for a couple of wonderful ducks.
First, I received this luscious kirigami (cut paper) card from Fumiko of Japan. The bird is an oshidori, or Mandarin duck, and she has mounted the image on cardboard covered with her own handmade paper. I have it hanging in my office now. Gorgeous! She also sent me a postcard, and some extra pieces of her handmade paper. I look forward to using them.
Next, I got this cute duck from Ina in Lithuania, with the message, “In spring you have to get up earlier!” Indeed!
I really liked the stamps on the envelopes too! The Japanese one features — of course — a duck, and the Lithuanian one had a really detailed bug.
