My Inbox: Flowers and Bamboo Shoots from Hideko

Takenoko.Hideko.May22014
A wonderful takenoko, or bamboo shoot, which are in season right now. The words read, “Live as honestly as you can.” I will take those words to heart.
And also try to find a Japanese place serving takenoko!

Pink flowers (cherry blossoms?) with a Chinese poem by Guo Xiang (at least that’s what Google Translation tells me), which Hideko Sonomura translated into Japanese in the upper part of the card. I would try to translate as “Grass grows as a matter of course when spring comes.”
