My inbox: Eggplant wordplay from Debbie!

Debbie.SunaniNasu.received.2013-06-03I was so excited to find this in my inbox today, from Debbie, of Dosankodebbie’s Etegami Notebook! The words on it, すなになす, is a bit of Japanese wordplay, in which the sentence is spelled the same front and back.  It literally means “Eggplant in sand.”

It just so happened that the card arrived as I was about to start preparing dinner, baingan bharta, an Indian eggplant dish. Those eggplants were destined for the oven, but not before a photo shoot with Debbie’s card!If you want to see more eggplants by Debbie, go here.

    1. I think I’d never get anything made that way! But I do have a few cards I’ve made recently of food, before I prepped them. Sweet peas in particular are very appealing to draw!
