I made this etegami to thank my uncle Jack, for the beautiful cutting board he made me. The seal on this says “ari”, or “ant” in Japanese. I had it made in Hong Kong many years ago. I have since started to use a variety of more simple hankos, as I detail in this post.
Incidentally, I fear that uncle Jack never got my postcard. I mailed it to him using 29 cent stamp, and learned later that the USPS now charges 32 cents for postcards. I hope it’s decorating someone’s sorting station at the post office somewhere now.
