“Waddle I do without you?”
This card was painted for my 8-year-old cousin (featured earlier this year)– hope she knows how much I love her!The paper I used here is Japanese rice paper (the thin kind used for calligraphy and often sold in stores in rolls). This paper is very thin, with a little bit of bleediness (nijimi), but not as much as traditional etegami cards. The paper also is very very thin. After I paint on this type of paper, I wait for it to dry and then glue to a thicker type of paper. The result is usually sort of bumpy, like you see here.
A lovely etegami for your cousin.
Thanks so much Paula!
