Here’s a little cocktail I concocted, using Green Hat gin, from the DC-based distillery New Columbia Distillers. I think I created this drink last December or January, and the fruit I chose then was the tangerine, so easy to find good ones in winter.
Not sure why I didn’t post this way back when I painted it. I think I wasn’t happy with the blotchy sumi ink — for some reason the ink I was using earlier this year was rather runny.
If I were making this right now, I might put in watermelon juice, although I worry that the Fernet Branca might overpower it.
DC Club:
2 oz. Green Hat Gin
1/4 oz Grand Marnier
1/4 oz Fernet Branca
1 oz tangerine juice
1/4 oz simple syrup
Shake vigorously with ice and pour into a cocktail class, no ice.
Garnish with a grapefruit twist.
